Top of the Week: A Couple Ways to Avoid Losing Business

Unfortunately, losing business is not completely unavoidable. If a relative of one of your past clients gets their real estate license, there’s not much you can do about that.

However, there are a couple of things that you can do to remind your clients that you are valuable, knowledgeable, and deserving of their referrals.

Internalize your marketing

Your website is an extension of you; it is your digital storefront that shows your past transactions and areas of expertise. Anything you send to your clients should somehow find a way to bring them back to your website. The sole purpose of internalized traffic is to remind your clients of your domain name, the unique spelling of your name, your contact information, your real estate knowledge, and that you are a genuine person that makes a living from the relationships you have built.


Lead them from your email to your website: Instead of sending out an article, newsletter or a market report to your clients in the body of an email, add that article or report to your website. When you send the email to your clients, provide a link that will direct them to that exact page.

Your buyers should be looking at homes on your website. They should be reminded that your website has everything they need to make informed real estate decisions.
